This is a year-round full time role! 

What will you do in this job?

  • Oversee daily operations of Paddle Ridge and Front Desk services, ensuring seamless execution of hospitality services and flow from the booking of activities to the guest’s enjoyment of the beautiful outdoors, and every interaction between. Monitor and optimize workflows to improve efficiency.  
  • Enhance guest satisfaction by implementing best practices in service delivery, addressing customer feedback, and ensuring high standards of hospitality. 
  • Assist in developing and managing operational budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Analyze operational metrics and prepare reports for senior management to drive informed decision-making. 
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., marketing, sales, and maintenance) to ensure cohesive operations and support business goals. 
  • Assists in managing (plans, directs, supervises, evaluates, rewards and disciplines) all tasks performed by department supervisors and direct reports 
  • Ensure Safety First as a top core value in all aspects of the operation by handling emergencies and operational challenges swiftly and effectively.  
  • Assist in welcoming all staff upon arrival. Support department supervisors with the planning and execution of staff engagement events.  
  • Communicates regularly with the GRC GM to deliver consistent updates and a good flow of information and ensure “no surprises”.  
  • Works with GM and other key leaders on annual business plans and budget including goal setting for each department. 
  • Sets schedules and expectations for the team and follows-up on an ongoing basis to be sure brand standards, mission and values guide team behaviors. 
  • Collaborates with GM in carefully managing staff employment details by working closely with People & Culture to ensure hiring, performance management, terminations, and communications are completed on a timely and accurate basis.  
  • Ensures teams are provided the tools necessary to do their jobs wellPlans, organizes, and ensures successful implementation of training SOPs for all inside operations areas, regarding GRC standards. 
  • Spends time meeting and greeting guests at the registration desk, sharing stories, and resolving concerns quickly. 
  • Helps assign staff accommodation units and conducts ongoing staff housing inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness guidelines are followed. 
  • Frequently inspects all areas of the business to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. 
  • Assist with other projects or special tasks as requested or as needed to support the business. 
  • Work collaboratively with shared services support areas including but not limited to: reservations/call center, marketing, finance, lodging & F&B to achieve the metrics above. 
  • Conduct seasonal and annual performance evaluations for each supervisor or direct report, while ensuring that the leadership team is conducting these with 100% of the staff. 
  • Works with Operations and Reservations to ensure all teams are working together and weekly scheduling of rafting and fishing capacity. 
  • Develop SOP for all procedures and processes and train all leadership staff to a high level of proficiency. 
  • Analysis, access and develop procedures to ensure departments are running with maximum efficiency. 
  • Work with GM to create long term and annual business plan and budgets including goal setting for each department 
  • Responsible for assisting in the building and maintenance of Adventure services for Glacier Raft Company.  

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • 3+ years general hotel management, front desk management, housekeeping management or hospitality related experience  
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team building and customer service. 
  • Computer skills necessary, including MS Office. Knowledge of Maestro not required, but a bonus 
  • Current valid US Driver’s License- this position will require driving 
  • Able to lift 50lbs, work in an office setting with other employees and continuous background noise. Can bend, twist, sit and stand as expected in an office setting, with or without the need for accommodation.  
  • Be kind to others and always bring your best. Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic, and courteous in dealing with guests and staff 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail, while never minimizing the quality of the service provided to our guests and staff 
  • Be a good communicator, always suggesting ideas and solutions 
  • Be relaxed, flexible and able to handle a few curveballs
